Maial Panhpunu Paiakan Kaiapo of the Kayapo people, lives in the state of Para, in the Brazilian Amazon. The David Suzuki Foundation’s first international Indigenous research fellow, she has a degree in law and works to advance human and environmental rights for Indigenous communities.
