More than 15,000 people sent messages to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna asking them to clean up methane from Canada’s fracking industry.

Furthermore, more than 300 people wrote to their local papers about methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. Fifty of those letters were published, putting pressure on the federal government to reduce methane emissions.

On April 25, 2018, Environment and Climate Change Canada delivered the world’s first comprehensive federal regulations to reduce methane emissions from the oil and gas sector.
