Have your say: Cap oil and gas emissions NOW
Finally! Help limit emissions from Canada’s biggest polluter
The federal government finally released draft regulations to cap oil and gas companies’ soaring emissions and is holding a 60-day public consultation period, ending January 8.
Alongside partner organizations and tens of thousands of people in Canada, we’ve been advocating for this for years. It’s a no-brainer when it comes to climate action, a crucial step to meeting our climate goals and achieving climate safety. The oil and gas sector — Canada’s largest carbon polluter — is raking in windfall profits. For decades, it has had the means to voluntarily lower its emissions but has failed to do so. Instead of cleaning up its toxic industry, it continues to invest in undermining needed climate policy.
Don’t let the damaging, misleading fossil fuel industry override the people’s will. Have your say in the government consultation to ensure that Canada finally limits oil and gas pollution by signing the petition now.
