This letter urges Canada to remove proposed changes to the Pest Control Products Act from omnibus bills tabled by Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne in spring 2026 that weaken and politicize science-based decision-making. Twenty organizations ask government to recommit to the Act’s original purpose: to protect human health and safety and the environment by regulating pest control products, guided by the precautionary principle and impartial, transparent scientific review.
