A healthy province needs healthy forests
As Ontario recovers from COVID-19, it must put health and well-being at the forefront — for people and forests.
Unfortunately, the Ontario government wants to extend the forestry sector’s exemption from the Endangered Species Act. The forestry sector should not be exempt from this act.
The province should consult scientific and Indigenous knowledge experts to amend forestry legislation in support of at-risk species.
Please take a moment to demand that the province require that forestry protect wildlife and habitat.
At least 60 species-at-risk live in Ontario’s managed forests. Now’s your chance to speak up for them. They can’t speak for themselves.
The province wants to hear from you by June 18.
Time is tight. Please tell Ontario today that the province needs healthy ecosystems to thrive.
