The former Regina council supported increased density around transit hubs. Regina has a Transit Master Plan and Energy and Sustainability Framework. Key to meeting the goals in these strategies is creating more transit-oriented, mixed-use development and walkable, bikeable communities. More density is climate action. Moving people closer to the city centre will significantly reduce transportation emissions. It will also revitalize our downtown. Our hope is that the newly elected Regina City council will continue to support building homes, more transit and climate action.
