Residents of islands like Kiribati, who’ve barely contributed to climate change, are being displaced — and there’s a debate about who “has to” take care of them. Canada will be one of the places where climate refugees flee. As a child of refugees and immigrants I know how hard it is to leave everything behind, to leave your home, to be displaced. How many people will be forced from their homes before we do something about climate change?
