Middle-aged, white male settler, artist, designer, educator, happily married.

My Okanagan summer memories are a far cry from what we have now — wildfire devastation, doors and windows closed because of smoke, worrying about friends and family. I wonder what we will wake up to tomorrow. We expect nature to be always there for us, but it won’t. We need to find our way back to a healthy balance and the humility that comes with living as part of a larger ecosystem.
