Lindsay Frankel: Nature provides necessary refuge from the darkness

Vancouver, B.C.

Teenager, student, artist, Jewish, athlete, duel citizen, ally.

As a child, I felt accepted by nature. Snails coming out of their shells inspired me to do the same. My connection with nature increased my understanding of how humans are harming my refuge. I often feel powerless in the fight for the planet, frustrated with leaders’ disregard for the urgency of the climate crisis. My generation and our children will suffer from current lack of action. Our world is burning down while we anxiously wait.
