Council passes amendment to strengthen 2030 emissions target
Over the past couple of months, our team has been working closely with city councillors and staff to strengthen Brampton’s climate plan.
On September 23, council voted unanimously to support the climate plan and decided to go even further by increasing its 2030 target from 20 per cent to 30 per cent below 2016 levels.
Climate scientists have been telling us that the action we take by 2030 will determine our climate future.
Let’s celebrate Brampton for its leadership in adopting one of the most ambitious 2030 targets in the region.
This was all possible because of the hundreds of community members who emailed Mayor Patrick Brown and councillors to call for more ambitious targets.
