This is our chance to be part of a global movement
In the coming weeks, Mississauga city council will vote on whether to declare a climate emergency.
Hundreds of cities in Canada and jurisdictions around the world representing over 70 million people have already done so. This is Mississauga’s big chance to step up to the international stage to join the global climate movement.
Cities are in the best position to fight climate change and protect citizens from the increasing impacts of extreme weather. Cities like Mississauga can jump-start climate action by recognizing the climate crisis for what it is and committing to real action that will lead to becoming carbon-pollution-free by 2050.
Please sign this message to the mayor and your councillor now, encouraging them to pass the climate emergency motion.
