Expertise : environmental health policy issues, zero-emission vehicles, Clean Fuel Standard; lead policy analyst on the Foundation’s national pesticide campaign Blue Dot campaign for environmental rights, campaign to strengthen the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and representative to the Clean Fuel Standard Technical Working Group; DSF’s representative in Ottawa.
Credentials : two decades’ work in energy and environment issues; master’s degree in science, environment and innovation policy from the University of Carleton’s School of Public Policy and Administration; worked for the U.S. citizen advocacy organization Public Citizen in Washington, D.C.
Passions : mom of two young children; enjoys biking, baking and heated political discussions.
Canada should recognize the human right to a healthy environment in law, as most countries do, and legislate requirements to protect vulnerable communities from pollution and toxic substances.
