Build Back Better: Designing a Canadian economic system that grows wellbeing and quality of life

The David Suzuki Foundation recommends that Canada aim to “build back better” from COVID-19 by pursuing an economic system that prioritizes wellbeing for all. This includes addressing ongoing environmental crises such as climate change and pervasive inequities in prosperity and quality-of-life.

Ontario faces an opportunity to redesign its economy following the COVID-19 crisis to one that prioritizes well-being for all Ontarians and the planet. The David Suzuki Foundation provided the Ontario government with seven key recommendations for economic reform that aim to increase the disposable income of Ontarians, promote access to quality public services, support vulnerable local businesses and establish strong starting points for a post-pandemic economic redesign.
