This document provides background information for the report, A New Climate for Conservation: Nature, Carbon and Climate Change in British Columbia, which examines how conserving nature is a critical element in the fight to slow climate change and in efforts to adapt to the effects of climate change. It explores the role of nature conservation in a climate action strategy for ecological adaptation and ecological mitigation. Its key recommendation is to develop a comprehensive and integrated Nature Conservation and Climate Action Strategy for British Columbia.
