Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer after smoking and is responsible for up to 16 per cent of lung cancer deaths in Canada, yet few people even know it exists. Revisiting Canada’s Radon Guideline compares Canada’s radon guideline to international standards in other industrialized countries. We conclude it’s time to update Canada’s guideline to match leading international standards. The report provides recommendations to reduce indoor radon concentrations and provides information on what you can do to reduce radon risk in your own home.
