Biodiversity Ontario, species at risk, conservation, policy and regulation
This report sheds light on the shortfalls in species protection under the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s (MNRF) current approach to implementing its Endangered Species Act (ESA), exposing the potentially fatal gap between the promises made in 2007 and the state of affairs a decade later. The report is situated within the context of the global biodiversity crisis. It discusses the standard and level of protection the ESA provides and features some of the many species affected.
