This report analyzes the uneven distribution of urban vegetation in Laval, highlighting the strong link between vegetation coverage and social and economic marginalization.
It compares distribution of total plant cover in Laval — a historically young municipality — and the Metropolitan Community of Montreal to determine trends in inequalities observed in other cities. The results revealed a significant correlation between total vegetation cover and marginalization scores across Laval.
The data show a significant patchiness of vegetation in Laval, an important environmental resource.
