Marine protected areas safeguard our natural treasures, as well as coastal economies. A vast majority of British Columbians are asking for greater marine protection in the Canadian Pacific. Political and financial commitments are needed to meet Canada’s national and international commitments to establish a network of marine protected areas by 2020.
